(85 images) - There are moments in your life that give you perspective. The first time I stood in the Pacific I felt insignificant, while the size of a hot air balloon is not like the grandeur of an ocean, standing under 20 makes for a very odd sensation of smallness. The Balloon Glow is part of the Great Forest Park Balloon Race, an event that I've heard about since moving to St. Louis, but have never attended. Watching these cloth behemoths rise from flat on the ground to filled in the air was spectacular. Every so often a horn would signal to light 'em up producing the beautiful "glow". A great St. Louis event, it's definitely recommended. Maybe these pics will influence you for '07.
