(65 images) - Animal Always is a Sculpture by Albert Paley located outside the fence of southeast corner of the St. Louis Zoo at the intersection of Hampton and Wells in Forest Park. I remember the first-time I saw it, my thoughts were "that's freakin' awesome" as I kept trying to look in my rearview to see more of it. The 100 ton sculpture is made of of Cor-Ten steel, and while some have criticized it because of the rusty appearance, the varying tones and textures of this edifice to Animalia are truly beautiful and inspired. St. Louisans are fortunate to add this to a growing collection of public artwork. I recommend everyone at least drive by even if you don't have time to explore, however be careful not to drive off the road, as your eyes lock on.
